OBJECTS OF THE ASSOCIATION

The Association is established solely to:
(a) promote greater coordination, cohesion and collaboration between sectors, organisations and individuals involved in the promotion of physical activity and to assist in building the capacity of the field;
(b) provide advice to Government on physical activity and to influence policy directions and commitment;
(c) identify, develop, promote and support the implementation of key strategies for engaging the community in regular and appropriate physical activity;
(d) assist in the facilitation of relevant research and to collect, develop, package, and disseminate pertinent information and resources for organisations and the public;
(e) ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, requirements and agreements and operate in a professional and ethical manner;
(f) provide for the conduct, encouragement, co-ordination and promotion of physical activity throughout Victoria and Australia;
(g) pursue through itself or other such commercial arrangements, including sponsorship and marketing, opportunities as are appropriate to further these Objects;
(h) formulate or adopt and implement appropriate policies, including in relation to sexual harassment, equal opportunity, equity, drugs, health, safety, infectious diseases and such other matters as arise from time to time as issues to be addressed;
(i) do all that is reasonably necessary to enable these objects to be achieved and to enable the Members to receive the benefits which these Objects are intended to achieve;
(j) co-operate or join with or support any club, association, organisation, society, individual whose activities or purposes are similar to those of the Association or which advance these Objects;
(k) have regard to the public interest in its operations; and
(l) undertake and or do all such things or activities as are necessary, incidental or conducive to the advancement of these Objects.
